Rheumatology Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rheumatology Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team at the Haywood Rheumatology Centre, Stoke-on-Trent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to research and education initiatives.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with a team of 12 Consultants, Junior Doctors, Nurse Consultants, and other healthcare professionals. You will have access to a wide range of specialized rheumatology and musculoskeletal clinics across Staffordshire and will be supported by a well-established rehabilitation medicine, pain, fracture liaison, bone densitometry, and research teams.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of rheumatological conditions
- Lead clinical teams and contribute to the development of clinical services
- Participate in research and education initiatives, including clinical trials, outcome measures, and outcome studies
- Collaborate with orthopaedic surgeons and medical specialists to provide comprehensive care
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Full GMC Registration
- GMC Licence to Practice
- Medical Qualification
- MRCP or equivalent
- PhD, MSc, MD, or other higher degree (desirable)
- Completion of a recognized registrar training programme in Rheumatology +/- GIM
- Experience leading teams in Rheumatology
- Experience in teaching and research
