As part of our distinguished team, you will engage directly with your peers to prepare and present food of the highest quality. By utilizing premium ingredients and focusing on locally sourced and seasonal products, you will design and refine menu offerings for various events and occasions.
Although your primary location will be at a central kitchen, you will also have the opportunity to work at different venues throughout the year after an initial training period.
We strive to maintain a balanced work schedule for our kitchen staff, which includes some shifts during convenient hours and designated weekends off.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with the Head Chef and kitchen personnel to ensure smooth operations and maintain the highest service quality.
- Assist the Head Chef with procurement, inventory management, and menu development, offering ideas for new or enhanced dishes.
- Oversee and participate in the preparation and production of meals for a variety of events and daily requirements.
- Mentor, motivate, and guide junior chefs, fostering their skills in diverse cooking and preparation methods across all kitchen areas.
- Ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations by following established procedures.
Essential Qualifications
- Possessing a City and Guilds catering qualification (or equivalent), you will have significant experience in a premier catering environment, ideally at a Junior Sous or Sous Chef level.
- Demonstrated proficiency in all kitchen sections: Larder, Vegetables, Sauces, and Pastry, showcasing your versatility and expertise.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and support junior team members.
- Highly organized, with the capability to plan and delegate tasks effectively.
- A solid understanding of health and safety standards to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, where each day presents new challenges and opportunities for culinary creativity.
