Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at Anson McCade. As a key member of our OpenStack Linux team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, consistency, and scalability of our software-defined data centers and open-source technologies.

About the Role:

  • Take full ownership of the OpenStack environment, managing instance creation, end-user support, and ensuring the setup is reliable and consistent.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide support for model-based engineering teams and ensure the environment's health, performance, and scalability.
  • Develop and implement automation tools like Ansible and Terraform to streamline OpenStack setup and maintenance.
  • Work closely with the team to identify and resolve complex issues, leveraging strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • SC Clearance is required to be active or obtained before joining.
  • In-depth knowledge of core OpenStack services (Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder) and extensive experience with the Ceph storage platform.
  • Proficient in deploying and configuring OpenStack environments using automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
  • Advanced expertise with Linux OS, particularly RHEL, with strong command line and scripting skills (bash, Python) for automation tasks.
  • Skilled in provisioning, configuring, and managing virtual machines and containers within OpenStack.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring and logging tools to ensure service continuity and expertise in security best practices for maintaining OpenStack platforms.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent customer service, collaboration, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Benefits Package:

  • Base salary: Up to £80,000 (DoE)
  • Annual Bonus: Up to 21%
  • Holidays: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension: Pension 14% (6% Employee and 8% Employer)
  • Share Incentive Plan: Opportunity to purchase shares via payroll before tax and NI.
