About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage our most complex projects, driving business growth and delivering exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage bids, programmes, projects, tasks, and work packages, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Achieve budgeted performance, monitor progress, and provide detailed forecast updates.
  • Effectively manage stakeholders, maintaining cooperative and constructive relationships with customers, suppliers, and SEA staff.
  • Proactively develop business opportunities, collaborating with the business development team to create high-value proposals.
  • Deliver and plan complex projects and programmes, adhering to industry best practices and SEA's management system.
  • Lead the team in problem-solving, achieving high levels of staff engagement, and ensuring team members understand their priorities and scope of work.
  • Enable the team to continually improve by removing impediments, capturing lessons, and reviewing delivery outcomes.
  • Line manage project staff, setting SMART objectives, monitoring performance, and conducting annual staff appraisals.
Requirements
  • Experience in managing firm price, complex system contracts of multi-million pound value.
  • Expertise in planning, risk, and opportunity management.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to demonstrate effective change and conflict management.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of all phases of a project, from inception to closure, in the military environment.
  • Deep knowledge of project management competencies, including financial and earned value management, risk and opportunity management, and supplier and subcontractor project management.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of different commercial arrangements, including fixed price design and manufacture, availability-based service provision, build-to-print, time and materials contracts, etc.
  • Hands-on experience of working with project management tools, such as Microsoft Project, risk registers, etc.
  • Formal qualifications with the APM (to PMQ), professional registration, or actively working towards similar level qualifications.
