About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated leader to join our team as the Associate Director of Elective Recovery. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development and delivery of our elective recovery programme, working closely with the Surgery & Cancer Division to ensure the provision of high-quality patient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the elective recovery programme, ensuring it meets the Trust's priorities and performance targets.
  • Provide strategic leadership at divisional level, ensuring the provision of high-quality patient services and driving forward the service improvement agenda.
  • Establish and apply performance management systems to monitor contract performance, staff management, and departmental performance indicators.
  • Lead the development of a centre of excellence in ambulatory surgery at NUH, working closely with the Barts Health surgical strategy implementation team.

Person Specification
  • Master's degree or equivalent level management qualification.
  • Extensive experience at a senior level in an acute Trust environment, including a sound understanding of the performance and governance requirements of the NHS for acute Trusts.
  • Significant experience of financial management and rigorous financial management and control to meet agreed targets.
  • Experience of establishing and applying performance management systems in areas like contract monitoring, staff management, and departmental performance indicators.
  • Experience of service improvement and strategic leadership of service delivery in a complex organisational environment.
