We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Technician specializing in Flood Management Solutions to become a permanent member of our team at Thames Water.
Your Role:
As a successful candidate, you will be tasked with executing both scheduled and corrective maintenance on Flood Management devices across the Thames Water region. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting inspections, diagnosing faults, and maintaining devices installed at various properties efficiently and safely.
- Collaborating within a small, close-knit team to make a significant impact on customers whose properties are vulnerable to flooding.
- Engaging in routine preventative and reactive maintenance of sewage drainage systems in confined spaces.
- Performing electrical and mechanical installation tasks at sites where Flood Management devices are deployed.
- Troubleshooting and resolving electrical and mechanical issues.
- Documenting the condition of Flood Management devices and identifying necessary spare parts and service requirements.
- Providing expert technical guidance and training support for new technical trainees.
- Interacting with external customers at properties equipped with Flood Management devices.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Being physically capable of lifting manhole covers and climbing ladders as required.
What We Expect:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A completed apprenticeship with substantial experience in electrical systems, ideally in a multi-skilled capacity.
- Prior experience in an electrical apprenticeship, along with ONC/HNC qualifications in engineering.
- Mechanical qualifications that enable you to inspect, maintain, and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols is essential.
- A valid driving license, as all necessary tools and vehicles will be provided.
What We Offer:
We provide a competitive salary of up to £39,000 per annum, depending on your experience, along with:
- 24 days of annual leave, increasing to 28 with service length.
- A contributory pension scheme with a maximum of 12% employer contribution.
