About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join our IT team at Barbour, a leading lifestyle brand. As a key member of our Business Systems team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing a well-architected, flexible, scalable, and secure applications landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems Architecture: Define, document, and maintain the systems architecture model to provide a flexible, robust, and scalable solutions blueprint for our global operations.
  • Solution Design: Work with business stakeholders, software vendors, systems integrators, IT Integration Team, and Product Owners to design and present solution options.
  • Review and Coaching: Review proposed solutions from System Analysts to ensure they meet business requirements while conforming to defined IT standards and requirements for flexibility, robustness, and scalability. Coach System Analysts in solutions, application technology, and architecture and integration design.
  • Business Process Mapping: Lead business process mapping and change leadership initiatives.
  • Incident Management: Provide leadership and expertise in supporting systems failures, major incidents, system integration testing, and complex support and integration issues impacting our business operations.
  • Product Ownership: Serve as Product Owner for assigned systems, maintaining backlogs, defining product roadmaps, and assessing capabilities that could enhance the efficiency and capabilities of the company.
  • External Representation: Represent Barbour in external projects with customers and suppliers.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Infor Cloudsuite technologies, including MEC, ION, Mongoose, and Microsoft technologies such as MS SQL Server Stack, Azure, and Azure DevOps.
  • Development Experience: Expert SQL Server developer (all versions), especially TSQL, SSIS, and deployment strategies.
  • Integration Technologies: Strong understanding of integration technologies, including APIs, XML, payloads, and protocols.
  • Database Architecture: Experience with database architecture and design.
  • Business Analysis: Excellent business analysis skills to facilitate successful discovery workshops across multiple operational and back-office business functions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationships across business functions.
  • Agile Methodology: Experience of working with the principles of Agile project delivery methodology.
