About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Ecotricity, a leading green energy provider in the UK. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering projects, ensuring data quality, and contributing to the company's mission to become more efficient by leveraging our data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Take ownership of delivering projects on time and to specification, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Data Quality: Ensure data quality and resolve problems swiftly, identifying and addressing technical debt to improve overall efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders outside the department, communicating effectively to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Technical Excellence: Contribute to organisational awareness of technical best practice, seeking opportunities to upskill and cross-train with peers.
  • Problem-Solving: Overall responsibility for ensuring that faults are resolved swiftly, and background processes are robust and actively monitored.
About the Team

The Ecotricity Technology department is a friendly team with a strong focus on getting results. We have a training programme in place to further advance your skills, with dedicated time for training and certifications in Databricks paid for by the company.

Requirements
  • Technical Experience: Considerable technical experience in data solutions, with a passion for developing data solutions and handling data in any format.
  • Skills: Demonstrable technical skillset, including Databricks/Apache Spark, SQL/Python, and BitBucket/GitHub.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the Energy industry is useful but not necessary.
