Primary SEN Teacher Job Description

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £165 - £210 Per day

Job Duties:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary SEN Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons to support pupils aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that caters to the individual needs of each student.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, behaviour, and academic performance.
Required Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEMH difficulties and experience working with pupils with special educational needs. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Additional training or qualifications in special education or SEN support.
  • Experience working in a similar role within a special provision or SEN school.
Working Conditions:

The role involves working with vulnerable children and may require additional safeguarding training. The successful candidate will work full-time hours, Monday to Friday, within the school term calendar.
