About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Mill House. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring that our high standards of quality and presentation are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in the planning and preparation of menus, specials, and events
  • Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective service
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and service
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a senior kitchen role, preferably in a restaurant or gastro pub environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a commitment to maintaining high standards
