About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialised Therapeutic Radiographer to join our team as a Digital Clinical Placement Educator. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team to design and deliver digital clinical placements across the Integrated Care Systems, including National Programmes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support Digital Clinical Placement Project Design and Delivery: Collaborate with our team to design and deliver digital clinical placements that meet the needs of our learners and stakeholders.
  • Maintain a Leadership Coaching Model: Develop and maintain a leadership coaching model that creates a psychological safe learning and working environment in clinical placement practice.
  • Maintain Learner Safety: Ensure that all learners are safe and supported throughout their clinical placements, including risk assessment, progression, and assessment.
  • Deliver Radiotherapy Education Activity: Work with our core education leadership teams to deliver high-quality radiotherapy education activity that meets the needs of our learners.
  • Influence Radiotherapy Education Frameworks: Contribute to the development of radiotherapy education frameworks that ensure high levels of training standards and good clinical outcomes for patients.
  • Support Pre-Registration and Post-Registration Radiotherapy Training: Provide support and supervision to pre-registration and post-registration radiotherapy learners, including inductions, preceptorship, and progression.
Requirements
  • Highly Specialist Level of Knowledge: Possess a highly specialist level of knowledge in education theory and practice, modern radiotherapy and oncology theory, and technical and clinical practice.
  • Analytical and Judgemental Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical and judgemental skills to advise the Education Principal Radiographer and the Professional Head of Radiotherapy on education and training functions.
  • Planning and Organisational Skills: Plan and organise rosters for learners and ensure that the full roster is agreed with partner universities.
  • Physical Skills: Develop and maintain technical skills required to prepare, facilitate, and deliver radiotherapy treatments.
  • Responsibility for Patient/Client Care: Provide education advice on radiotherapy services to students and other learners and to more junior qualified colleagues.
  • Responsibility for Policy/Service Development: Contribute to the development of departmental policy in relation to education and training functions.
  • Responsibility for Financial and Physical Resources: Ensure the safe use of expensive or highly complex equipment.
  • Responsibility for Human Resources: Provide highly specialist teaching to pre and post-registration learners in radiotherapy.
  • Responsibility for Information Resources: Record personally generated information and ensure a system is in place to manage data.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience of Clinical Practice at Other Radiotherapy Centres: Possess experience of working in other radiotherapy centres.
  • Participation in the Implementation of New Equipment or Technology: Participate in the implementation of new equipment or technology.
