Senior Educational Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Educational Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to children and young people in education settings.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing consolidated and enhanced clinical skills in the role of an EMHP. This will involve delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems, as well as providing enhanced system working skills and leading the coordination and delivery of whole-school approaches and school-based consultation models.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consolidated and enhanced clinical skills in the role of an EMHP
- Deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems
- Provide enhanced system working skills
- Lead the coordination and delivery of whole-school approaches and school-based consultation models
- Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing
- Work with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services
- Develop and deliver a range of psycho-education and training to children, young people, parents/carers, and school staff based on evidence-based knowledge
The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent level of relevant experience, basic literacy and numeracy qualifications, and a recognized CYP IAPT Low Intensity Qualification. A qualification in delivering CYP IAPT low-intensity supervision training with EMHPS/CWPS or a willingness to work towards it is also essential. Postholder must hold up-to-date professional registration with a professional body such as the British Association for Counselling Psychotherapy or British Psychological Society.
