About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Educational Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our mental health services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to children and young people in education settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consolidated and enhanced clinical skills in the role of an EMHP, leading the coordination and delivery of evidence-based interventions for children and young people in education with mild to moderate mental health problems.
  • Support and facilitate staff in education settings and those EMHPs that are supervised to identify and manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work with and within education environments to provide better access to specialist mental health services.
  • Develop and deliver a range of psycho-education and training to children, young people, parents/carers, and school staff based on evidence-based knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development of individual or group clinical materials or training materials and lead on the delivery of these.
Requirements
  • Relevant postgraduate diploma in Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing in an education environment, including a Recognised CYP IAPT Low Intensity Qualification to work as an Education Mental Health Practitioner or a Children & Young People Wellbeing Practitioner.
  • A qualification in delivering CYP IAPT low-intensity supervision training with EMHPS/CWPS or a willingness to work towards it.
  • Up-to-date professional registration with a professional body, such as the British Association for Counselling Psychotherapy or the British Psychological Society.
