Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Restaurant Manager to oversee our enthusiastic team at Harajuku Kitchen, an award-winning venue celebrated for its authentic Japanese dishes.
Job Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: 5 days per week
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in a similar capacity within a dynamic restaurant environment, or for a capable Restaurant Supervisor or Duty Manager ready to advance their career. You will collaborate closely with our Owner and Management team to ensure exceptional customer service while managing Front of House operations. This role also offers the chance to exercise creativity by developing and leading your own team, crafting specials, and exploring innovative marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring staff management, customer satisfaction, and adherence to high-quality standards.
- Supervise and mentor restaurant personnel, fostering effective communication and leading by example.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen staff.
- Manage inventory and procure supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Address customer inquiries and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance sales and profitability.
- Work with the kitchen team to create new menu items and specials.
- Assist in preparing reports at the end of shifts/weeks, including staff management, inventory control, and sales analysis.
- Help organize and manage marketing initiatives, such as promotional events and discount programs.
- Oversee maintenance management.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety, and a clean, organized restaurant environment.
- Collaborate closely with the business owner to realize the restaurant's vision.
- Take responsibility for the quality of service provided.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced Japanese bistro is advantageous; experience in a similarly sized restaurant and working under pressure in a small team is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Passion for the Culinary Arts:
- Customer-focused with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Detail-oriented, always seeking ways to enhance the guest experience.
- Knowledgeable in food preparation techniques and current culinary trends.
- Able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with bartending techniques is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
