Position Overview
The Oxford Centre for Genomic Medicine is in search of a highly skilled and autonomous AHCS Registered Consultant Genetic Counselor to deliver expert-level Cancer Genetic counseling sessions. The successful candidate will become part of a growing team dedicated to addressing the evolving challenges of NHS genomic medicine services, ensuring that all patients and their families receive timely access to genetic and genomic testing, with care that is both safe and centered around the patient.

We are looking for an individual who shares these values and possesses demonstrated clinical expertise and a commitment to high standards of compassionate care delivery.
Main Responsibilities
The role requires experience as a Consultant Genetic Counselor, aligned with the Association for Genetic Nurses and Counsellors Career Structure 'Consultant Genetic Counselor - Clinical' profile.
Key responsibilities include:
- Exhibiting specialized knowledge and expertise in Cancer Genetics, capable of delivering care autonomously.
- Participating in weekly or bi-weekly case discussions and Cancer Genetics MDT meetings relevant to each case to ensure safe clinical practice.
- Providing training and education to pre-registered genetic counselors attending these meetings.
- Managing scheduled Cancer Genetics clinics, including those with long wait times, high clinical priority cases, and urgent or high-priority ad hoc appointments and results consultations.
