Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director to join our team at Collaborate Recruitment. As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for promoting and enhancing our service offering across a vast customer network.

You will be given the autonomy to manage your workload and time to enable you to maximize business volumes and strive for growth through nurturing customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop Business Connections: Develop business connections with prospect customers, promoting the services of the organization and gaining their commitment to utilize and benefit from the service offering.
  2. Initial Meetings: Conduct initial meetings with potential appointed representative firms to establish their suitability as a prospect customer.
  3. Relationship Building: Build and maintain close working relationships with all broker firms to ensure they are up-to-date with the services on offer.
  4. Marketing Support: Work closely with the sales and marketing team to promote and support specific marketing exercises and initiatives.
  5. Business Development Opportunities: Identify and explore business development opportunities to increase sales across a national network.
  6. Reporting: Provide timely reports detailing the results of activity.
  7. Ad Hoc Projects: Carry out ad hoc projects / tasks as required.
  8. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure behavior reflects high standards in line with FCA regulations and expectations of achieving an overall positive outcome for customers.
Key Skills and Experience
  1. Target-Oriented: Previous experience of working to targets and KPI's are essential – as a Business Development Manager, your results will be measured against agreed objectives and targets.
  2. Financial Services Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years' experience of working in a business development / sales role, within Financial Services / FCA regulated environments.
  3. Proactive Approach: A proactive, professional approach and the ability to work well under pressure.
  4. Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  5. Industry Knowledge: Practical knowledge / experience across Insurance, Protection, Financial services, or Mortgages – essential.
  6. Full UK Driver's Licence: Full UK Drivers Licence – essential – you will be provided with a car allowance, but will be expected to have a full UK drivers licence.
  7. Travel: Travel will be an expectation of this role – you will need to be available to attend meetings / stay away from home as and when required.
  8. CeMap Qualification: CeMap qualification / equivalent – essential for this role.
