About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at a Primary School with an SEN unit in Liverpool. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/programmes, both on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, taking into consideration pupil learning styles.
  • Work alongside key school staff to reduce levels of unauthorised absence and improve attendance and behaviour.
  • Develop good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and mentor.
  • Provide levels of individual pastoral support to pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working with Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience supporting or assisting children with behaviour aged 4-11.
  • The ability to develop good relationships with pupils.
  • Safeguarding knowledge or training, level 1 or above.
