About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Hate Crime Advocate to join our team at Victim Support. As a Hate Crime Advocate, you will play a vital role in directly supporting individuals who have been affected by Hate Crime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to service users, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and information to navigate the criminal justice system.
  • Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, and needs assessments to develop tailored support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting victims of Hate Crime.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance support services.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a similar setting or position, with a strong understanding of Hate Crime and its impact on individuals and communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with service users and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize a busy workload, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and its processes, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by victims of Hate Crime.
