We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition in a Year 1 class at a 2-form entry primary school in Haringey.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual support to the pupil with ASC, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Help implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan and behaviour management strategies.
- Facilitate the child's communication and language development through alternative communication methods.
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to plan and adapt activities to meet the pupil's specific needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, promoting their social integration with peers.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, providing regular feedback on the child's progress.
- Relevant experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition or similar special educational needs.
- Understanding of pre-verbal communication methods and strategies.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and the ability to adapt them to meet individual needs.
