Position Overview

The Department of Chemistry at Lancaster University is looking for a dedicated full-time Research Associate specializing in Next-generation K-ion Battery Cathodes to contribute to cutting-edge research under the guidance of Dr. Xiao Hua. This role is funded for a significant duration, focusing on the advancement of battery technology.

Project Details

The selected candidate will engage in pioneering research aimed at developing next-generation cathodes for K-ion batteries (KIBs). Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparation and optimization of novel metal fluorides for KIB applications.
  • Investigating the structural topology of metal fluoride frameworks and their correlation with electrochemical performance.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A PhD (or nearing completion) in chemistry or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience in laboratory research.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Expertise in techniques such as X-ray or neutron crystallography, or solid-state NMR.
