About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join our leadership team as Deputy Director of Service Operations. This role is only open to applicants currently working within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS).

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor and forecast demand and capacity, ensuring patient access issues are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Provide leadership and operational management skills to support multiple administrative teams, escalating to the Operational Services Managers (OSM) where appropriate and deputising for them.
  • Oversee the organisation and management of administration staff, including line management, staff performance, and staffing issues.
  • Lead the effective planning and recruitment of staff to meet access, activity, and quality targets within available resources.
  • Support the recruitment process of clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Support the preparation of business and operational plans.
  • Be responsible for PALS enquiries and complaints.

Person Specification
  • Degree, professional qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in managing admin services within the NHS.

  • Experience of using Excel and manipulating data.
  • Experience of successfully challenging behavior.
