Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Buyer to join our Buying Team at Crew Clothing Head Office. As a Junior Buyer, you will play a key role in the commercialization of our product range, driving profitable sales growth and ensuring that our collections meet the quality expectations of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development:
    • Develop and manage product ranges from prototype stage to in-store delivery, ensuring that they meet all established targets, including intake margin, cost price, and profitability.
    • Identify new product opportunities and present them to the Head of Buying.
    • Collaborate with the design and technical teams to ensure that products meet brand requirements and are to specification.
    • Manage the production process from SMS confirmation to delivery into the warehouse, ensuring that products are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Supplier Relationships:
    • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and executing product ranges that exceed budgeted intake margin for all channel ranges.
    • Manage the OTB process to ensure in-season trading opportunities are identified and delivered.
  • Team Working:
    • Work collaboratively with the Buying Team and wider business to ensure that the signed-off range reflects the agreed options and product/color mix.
    • Attend weekly departmental team and trade meetings to ensure that the team is well-informed and prepared.
  • Online and Channels:
    • Manage the salesman sample process from initial design prototype through to final stage.
    • Ensure that all SMS samples are available to Channels within given timelines and are executed to meet requirements.

Requirements:

  • Essential Skills and Experience:
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Excellent computer literacy in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage a work schedule while working to tight deadlines.
    • Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with suppliers and other department members.
    • Team work but motivated and able to work independently.
    • Understanding of the Buying function and critical Path processes and skilled in management of.
    • Able to work with pace and energy.
  • Desirable Skills and Experience:
    • Desire to learn understanding of garment construction and production processes.
    • Passion for product and keen to learn.
    • Positive and solutions-oriented.
    • Keen to progress within the role and Crew business.
