Band 3 Lead Healthcare Support Worker (Pre-operative Assessment)
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Band 3 Lead Healthcare Support Worker within the Pre-operative Assessment unit.
Flexibility to operate in various pre-operative areas outside the main department is expected.
This role is essential in the patient journey, ensuring that every patient is adequately prepared for their forthcoming surgical procedure.
Key Responsibilities
The pre-operative department is currently evolving, and we seek dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team during this transformative period.
As a member of the broader team, you will conduct assessments and gather data to assist trained nursing staff, demonstrating the ability to use your judgment effectively.
While prior experience in a pre-operative environment is advantageous, comprehensive training tailored to the role will be provided.

Job Duties
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality fundamental care to patients under the guidance of a Registered Practitioner, in a compassionate and sensitive manner:
- Always acting in the best interests of the patient.
- Ensuring the privacy and dignity of patients is maintained at all times.
- Providing personalized care for a diverse patient population, respecting individual beliefs and preferences.
- Promptly notifying the Registered Practitioner and/or Ward/Department Manager of any changes or concerns regarding patient welfare.
The post holder will also play an active role in supervising and mentoring junior or less experienced staff members.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Successful completion of the Trust's Band 2 Developmental Passport or equivalent competency.
Desirable
- NVQ / QCF level 3 in Health or Health and Social Care.
Experience

- Experience as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute hospital setting or similar environment.
- A reliable work or study history.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a relevant specialty.
