We are thrilled to announce a vacancy for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team on the Dott ward, a 27-bed neurovascular surgical unit. We seek individuals who are not only skilled but also exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for acute surgical care.

Our facility operates year-round, providing a comprehensive service to our patients and their families through various shift patterns, including days and nights. Key Responsibilities

- Engage in collaborative nursing practices and, when necessary, coordinate patient care effectively.
- Monitor and report on patient conditions, following medical directives as required.
- Safeguard patients' belongings and ensure their security.
- Contribute to the training and development of nursing staff, including both novice and experienced learners, in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.
- Assume responsibilities associated with the coordinator's role as needed.
- Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures, and care standards.
- Maintain exemplary nursing care standards and regularly review these with the Ward Manager.
- Support team members in understanding their roles within the unit.
- Utilize ward resources and equipment efficiently.
- Ensure the secure handling, administration, and documentation of controlled substances in line with hospital protocols.
- Stay informed about new equipment and practices in use.
- Pursue ongoing professional development through participation in training sessions and seminars organized by in-service training officers.
- Uphold confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1984.
- Comply with Infection Control Guidelines at all times.
