About the Role

As a Fraud Data Analyst, you will leverage your analytical expertise to investigate suspicious activities and uncover valuable insights that directly impact our customers. Your work will contribute to reducing customer friction, minimizing fraud losses, and ultimately enhancing customer profitability.

You'll be immersed in a dynamic environment, analyzing billions of transactions monthly for leading organizations across diverse sectors such as Financial Services, Insurance, e-Commerce, and On-Demand Services. This unique vantage point will provide you with an unparalleled understanding of online behavior and the individuals behind it.

You'll collaborate closely with internal product and engineering teams, customer-facing account managers, and external business leaders and risk professionals. Your comprehensive fraud prevention strategies will be instrumental in safeguarding billions in revenue against sophisticated cyber threats.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into complex fraud cases, identifying patterns, actionable insights, and formulating clear recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Utilize your SQL and Python skills to enhance our customers' fraud detection capabilities. Analyze customer data offline to uncover trends, statistically refine policies, and minimize false positives. Generate executive-level reports and implement your recommendations by writing rules into the ThreatMetrix decision engine.
  • Develop insightful dashboards and reports to track the value delivered by our solutions. Focus on creating bespoke external-facing dashboards that provide each customer with the most critical insights.
  • Leverage your meticulous attention to detail and storytelling abilities to deliver compelling presentations for both internal and executive audiences, regardless of their technical background.
  • Lead customer-focused projects, including root cause analysis, reports, dashboard development, rule mining, and health checks. Maintain a professional and customer-centric approach when interacting with clients through various channels.
  • Collaborate effectively with ThreatMetrix teams, including Product, Engineering, Sales, and other Professional Services colleagues worldwide, to continuously refine best practices.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python and SQL. Familiarity with BI tools such as SuperSet, Tableau, or PowerBI is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the highest quality project delivery for our customers.
  • Proven track record of creating external and executive reports and presentations.
  • Interest or experience in consulting within the risk, fraud, or payments industry. Experience working with fraud management systems such as ThreatMetrix, Emailage, Featurespace, Hunter, Iovation, BioCatch, Actimize Falcon, etc., is highly desirable.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills. Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Fluency in additional languages spoken across EMEA is a valuable asset, but not essential.
