About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services

A safe home is the solid base from which you build your life. We support people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as providing specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women, and young people.

About the Job

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and support Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC), aged 16 and 17, to develop their independence and prepare for their adult life while keeping them safe in a homely and nurturing environment.

As a Support Worker, you will have experience of direct work with young people, including support planning, child protection, risk assessment, referral processes, and housing management. You will support young people to become flourishing people and to overcome the interconnected problems that lead them into accessing our services.

This role is ideal for an individual who is happy to support young people and give advice, share best practice where required, to ensure all young people accessing the service receive the high level of support they deserve.

You will be joining a new team of support workers who all strive to ensure that the young people who access our service get the best possible support as well as supporting each other. You will also be supported by the wider Eslington House team.

The biggest part of your role will be supporting our young people to develop their independent living skills and be able to live flourishing lives. Empowering our young people to improve their life skills is important to us and is achieved through the delivery of workshops or signposting to external agencies who can support if necessary.
