About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Secretary to join our team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHSFT. As a Senior Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our medical teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial support to a specific Consultant and their team, working independently and using your own initiative.
  • Liaise with other medical secretaries and colleagues to ensure a smooth transfer of information within the service.
  • Be well-organised and able to deal with the public, ensuring confidentiality, efficiency, and politeness.
  • Prioritise your own workload and manage competing demands.
  • Have a sound knowledge of audio typing and medical terminology, with experience of the Patient Centre system in accordance with Trust procedures.
  • Assist in the coordination of care pathways, with full training provided.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy.
    • NVQ level 3 in administration or equivalent experience.
    • IT experience of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge of word-auto text and auto-correct.
    • Audio typing.
