About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at the Priory Group. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental, emotional, physical, and social well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate individual and group occupational therapy sessions to promote productivity, leisure, and self-care activities.
  • Set specific and measurable goals in collaboration with patients to improve their physical and mental health.
  • Support patients in developing domestic skills, such as using a washing machine or cooking for themselves.
  • Help patients manage their finances by teaching budgeting skills and using banks.
  • Assist patients in living independently by providing systems to manage mail and bills.
  • Work with patients to access and utilize mainstream leisure activities.
  • Provide advice on the level of assistance patients may need to live independently in the long-term.
  • Organize event days, such as Occupational Therapy Week.
  • Provide supervision for Real Life Work Opportunities and complete timesheets.
  • Attend community meetings and update Occupational Therapy notice boards.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and receive regular supervision from the Occupational Therapist.
  • Update patient folders and maintain accurate records of interactions and therapy sessions.
  • Administer petty cash and create statistical data on Excel.
  • Book vehicles and venues for Occupational Therapy sessions.
  • Complete Section 17 paperwork for Occupational Therapy leave.
  • Provide educational support tailored to individual needs and remain client-centered.
  • Facilitate faith and culturally related activities specific to patient needs.
  • Liaise with Activity Coordinators to demonstrate excellent teamwork and monitor patient development.
