We are seeking an exceptional Allied Health Professional or Nurse to join our Practice Development Team, within the Education and Development Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating continuous improvement in patient care and implementation of the NMAHP Strategy through five dimensions.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will be responsible for:
- Acting as an expert clinical resource to colleagues by guiding practice developments, assessing competence and supporting implementation of policies.
- Demonstrating a problem-solving approach to all aspects of the role.
- Leading on quality improvement projects aligned to patient safety and quality priorities or national drivers.
- Delivering education and training where required.
- Promoting a lifelong learning culture providing high-level professional leadership for the delivery of workforce development.
- Supporting production of transparent data and reports.
- Conducting assessments in specific wards or community teams to identify and inform the support required to achieve recovery/improvement.
- Training and coaching to meet specific requirements or initiatives.
- Working clinically in specific wards or community teams as required to support individual nurses, midwives, AHPs or teams in developing their practice.
We manage four major locality hospitals at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, covering one of the largest geographical areas of any NHS trust in the country. RequirementsThe post holder will need to have:
- Significant post-registration experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience of undertaking practice developments in the clinical setting.
- Clinical supervisor experience.
- Experience of leading practice developments in own clinical area.
The post holder will also need to have a valid driving license for the UK, due to the need to commute between sites.
