About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Domestic Assistant to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out specific cleaning and domestic duties, following set procedures and standards to provide and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital and designated wards or departments.
  • Perform domestic duties including general cleaning, isolation cleaning, high and low dusting, wet and dry mopping, cleaning toilets, baths, and washbasins, emptying clinical and general waste bins, and vacuum cleaning.
  • Use cleaning equipment, machinery, and cleaning materials responsibly and within health and safety guidelines.
  • Adopt a flexible approach when undertaking domestic duties.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has a basic understanding of cleaning within a hospital environment.
  • Is able to use electrical cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, and buffers.
  • Has good communication skills and is able to work effectively with a range of people.
  • Is able to organise and prioritise day-to-day tasks.
  • Is flexible and adaptable to meet service needs.
