We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Domestic Assistant to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust. As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our hospital and designated wards or departments.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out specific cleaning and other related duties, following set procedure and standards to provide and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Perform domestic duties including general cleaning, isolation cleaning, high and low dusting, wet and dry mopping, cleaning toilets, baths, and washbasins, emptying clinical and general waste bins, and vacuum cleaning.
- Use cleaning equipment, machinery, and cleaning materials responsibly and within health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain staff and public safety through appropriate use of warning signage while cleaning.
- Adopt a flexible approach when undertaking domestic duties.
- Understanding of the importance of cleaning within a hospital environment.
- Knowledge of using electrical cleaning equipment (vacuum, steam cleaner, buffer, floor scrubber-dryer, carpet cleaner).
- Basic numeracy and literacy required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people and understand written and verbal communications.
- Ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day tasks.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet service needs.
