About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Fromefield Manor School, a new SEN school located in central Frome, Somerset. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of our pupils with autism and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist class teachers in planning, monitoring, and assessing pupil progress, and provide support for learners to become independent.
  • Teach classes that are clearly structured, interesting, and motivating, and promote inclusion and equal access to opportunities for all learners.
  • Use behaviour and management strategies in line with school policies and procedures, and promote the emotional well-being of all learners.
  • Monitor, assess, and evaluate learner progress, and provide verbal and written feedback to learners and parents/carers.
  • Contribute to the ethos and aims of the school by attending meetings and training sessions, and make a positive input to the ongoing development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience of leading an ASDAN programme and supporting post-16 students.
  • Deep understanding of the educational and emotional needs of pupils with diverse learning requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organizational abilities and capacity to manage individualised education plans effectively.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in the face of challenges or changing circumstances.
