About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Fromefield Manor School, a new SEN school located in Somerset. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of our students with autism and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to learners, teachers, and the school to raise standards of achievement for all.
  • Assist with planning, monitoring, assessing, and managing classes to encourage learners to become independent.
  • Teach classes that are clearly structured, interesting, and motivating.
  • Be aware of differences, promote inclusion, and ensure that learners have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Use behavior and management strategies in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Monitor, assess, and evaluate learners' progress through a range of activities and provide verbal and written feedback.
  • Contribute to the ethos and aims of the school by attending meetings and training sessions.
Requirements
  • Experience of leading an ASDAN program.
  • Experience of supporting post-16 students.
  • Deep understanding of the educational and emotional needs of pupils with diverse learning requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage individualized education plans effectively.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience when faced with challenges or changing circumstances.
