About the Role

Vetro Housing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to young people aged 16-21 who are living in supported accommodation.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of the complexities of working with young people who have experienced trauma, PTSD, and other difficulties. You will work closely with our team to build resilience and confidence in our service users, enabling them to achieve their outcomes and manage their tenancies independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support and guidance to young people in a safe and non-judgmental environment
  • Develop and deliver group work facilitation to promote social skills, emotional well-being, and independence
  • Work collaboratively with our team to identify and address the needs of our service users
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required
Requirements
  • Experience of working with young people in an accommodation setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build supportive relationships
  • A strong understanding of issues that disrupt progress towards independence, such as mental health, substance use, and self-harm
  • Demonstrable skills in group work facilitation and conflict resolution
