Job Title: Development Officer, Menter Brycheiniog a Maesyfed
About the Role:
Menter Brycheiniog and Maesyfed is a service that aims to promote the use of the Welsh language and contribute to maintaining its use in the community. The post holder will be responsible for developing and increasing the use of the Welsh language in the Brecon and Radnor area. They will plan, carry out, and evaluate various activities for children, young people, families, and communities, working in partnership with internal and external bodies.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced community development worker or children/youth worker with project management skills, event organization experience, and budget management expertise. You should also have experience in language planning and be able to engage with schools and youth work settings to organize and hold regular sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Menter Brycheiniog and Maesyfed's youth work program to increase Welsh language opportunities for young people in south Powys.
- Raise the profile of the Welsh language in south Powys and promote its use across the Children and Young People, Families and Communities work areas.
- Plan and provide various activities within the county, ensuring a fair distribution in terms of type of activity, age of the user, locations, and geography.
- Manage Children and Young People's funding to ensure fair provision and value for money across south Powys.
- Coordinate, promote, and develop Welsh language services for children, youth, and adults in a wider context in collaboration with other organizations.
- Collect evidence about activities and prepare reports and papers as required.
