Role Overview: In the capacity of a Power and Renewables Underwriter, you will be integral to the underwriting and management of a varied portfolio of power and renewable energy risks. You will collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to deliver customized insurance solutions tailored to the specific requirements of this sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and underwrite risks associated with power and renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and hydro initiatives.
  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with brokers, clients, and industry stakeholders.
  • Perform comprehensive risk assessments and analyses to establish suitable coverage and pricing.
  • Work alongside internal teams to ensure effective risk management and adherence to underwriting standards.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, regulatory updates, and new technologies in the power and renewables field.
  • Assist in the creation of new products and underwriting strategies to strengthen our market position.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as an underwriter within the power and renewables domain.
  • In-depth knowledge of the renewable energy sector, including key technologies and market trends.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and the capacity to evaluate complex risks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships effectively.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Preferred professional qualifications in insurance (e.g., ACII).
