We are pleased to announce a remarkable opportunity for an Advanced Endoscopy Specialist within the Northern Care Alliance, engaging with all Endoscopy Units.
The ideal candidate will function as an autonomous expert practitioner, proficient in conducting both upper and lower endoscopic procedures.
Key Responsibilities
The selected individual will collaborate with fellow Advanced Endoscopy Specialists within the Northern Care Alliance. The role requires flexibility to operate across various Endoscopy Units, delivering endoscopic services to patients.
The individual will independently apply advanced clinical expertise, exercising sound judgement, discretion, and decision-making capabilities in clinical settings.
The role involves providing expert clinical skills and guidance, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of the patient demographic.
The individual will oversee and enhance care standards through practice supervision, education, and support for professional colleagues, while also providing skilled leadership. As a vital member of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), the individual will offer specialized advice on patient management as directed by the consultant team.
The individual will spearhead the integration of relevant research into practice, contributing to the advancement of the evidence base through research and audit initiatives.
The individual will play a crucial role in clinical governance by leading audit and research efforts as part of the MDT within their area of expertise. Additionally, the individual will be integral to the training and education of other endoscopists.

Job Responsibilities
This position is open to individuals who possess a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled in a program that will lead to the acquisition of their full NMC PIN within the next 2-3 months. Please note that an NMC PRN PIN does not qualify as a full NMC PIN and does not meet the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA is currently unable to accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who have not completed all competencies required to obtain a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK, as our OSCE program has been paused indefinitely.
