As an integral part of our renowned medical department, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional patient care within the Acute Medical Unit. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in guiding a team of dedicated healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive oversight and management of inpatient care on the Acute Medical Unit, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow consultants to deliver seamless patient care and foster a culture of shared responsibility.
- Facilitate rapid and efficient patient reviews within the Emergency Unit, contributing to timely diagnosis and treatment.
- Lead the Acute Medical Take with the on-call team, demonstrating strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
Essential Requirements:
- Full registration with the GMC in AIM or GIM.
- Proven experience in acute medicine, with a demonstrated ability to deliver independent service.
- Comprehensive understanding of current medical practices and NHS priorities.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and active participation in clinical audit.
- Experience in research activities and peer review processes.
- Proven track record in medical student teaching and supervisory roles.
- Demonstrated management training and the ability to lead and organize a specialist service.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring clear and effective interactions with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Adaptability to change and a strong commitment to upholding Trust values.
