Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Specialist Podiatrist to join our team at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Podiatry Service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service.

Main Responsibilities
  • To act as a Clinical Specialist in the Podiatry Service, undertaking triage, assessment, and treatment of referred patients.
  • To support the Team Manager and Advanced Clinical Specialists in the day-to-day running of the clinics and to assist in service improvement initiatives in their area of work.
  • To support the education and development of Podiatrists, Podiatry Assistants, Podiatry Apprentices, and external Podiatry students on placement.
  • To contribute to the delivery of the service in a variety of defined clinical settings, which may include community clinics and patients' homes.
  • To undertake specialist clinical assessment, taking into account all relevant information and clinical reasoning to formulate evidence-based individualized treatment plans in agreement with the patient.
  • To maintain accurate documentation in line with professional standards, and local policies and procedures.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Podiatry Professional degree/diploma
    • HCPC registration
    • Good general education
  • Desirable:
    • Communication skills training
    • Clinical educator training
    • Degree-level postgraduate education relevant to specialist area/or be working towards this
    • Be prepared to work towards degree-level postgraduate education relevant to specialist area
    • NHS Information Governance certificate
    • Membership of Relevant Professional Body
