Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Analyst Apprentice to join our team at ESG. As a key member of our security operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the security of our global data and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Security Operations: Monitor, log, and triage security alerts and cyber security threats, working closely with global teams to resolve issues and incidents.
  • Interpret Security Reports: Analyze and interpret security reports to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.
  • Investigate and Remediate Security Incidents: Investigate and remediate security incidents, working closely with internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Support Vulnerability Management: Support penetration testing and vulnerability management programs, coordinating remediation efforts with internal teams.
  • Maintain Security Policy: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internal security policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Maintain detailed knowledge of the IT Security industry, including new attacks and threat vectors.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest in Cyber Security and a passion for learning. You will have a basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including network security, encryption, authentication, and access control. Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols is also essential. Additionally, you will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Education: 5 GCSEs inclusive of English and Mathematics OR equivalent
  • Desirable: GCSE in Computer Science or similar OR equivalent
