Job Title: Financial Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Assistant to provide maternity cover within our finance department at Duncan and Todd Group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in completing and processing a variety of accounting tasks to maintain the seamless operation of month-end and day-to-day finance matters.
  • Prepare and post monthly journals, reconcile income between the retail system and finance system, and deal with all matters relating to credit cards.
  • Analyse and post all credit card costs, investigate and resolve any differences in intercompany balances, and provide monthly breakdowns of travel spend and credit card spend.
  • Review sundry margins for all retail branches to ensure transactions are captured correctly and provide relevant commentary for any anomalies.
  • Issue cheque refunds to patients and maintain a tracker, assist with daily bank allocations, and assist with matching of NHS receipts to claims submitted.
  • Support the Senior Accounts Assistant with tasks relating to Smart Employee Eyecare business, including monitoring and actioning mailbox queries, allocating corporate receipts, and reconciling sales ledger accounts.
  • Assist in reconciling and ensuring receipts are timely for Retail Corporate debtors, and assist the purchase ledger with invoice posting and statement reconciliations as and when required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably with month-end experience.
  • Competent in Excel and capable of manipulating data in Excel.
  • Desirable to have worked in a high-volume environment and have SAP experience, although training will be provided.
