SEN Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at Long Term Teachers Limited. The successful candidate will be based in a mainstream school, supporting students with EHCPs and working closely with the school's SENCO.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEND, including identifying their needs and coordinating provision with the SENDCO.
  • Work with the SENDCO to ensure that students receive the necessary support and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Review education, health, and care plans with parents and students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers.
  • Liaise with relevant agencies regarding student admissions.
  • Work with the SENDCO to ensure that provision is effective and meets student needs.
  • Line manage the Family Support Worker and provide support for vulnerable students.
  • Provide intimate care for pupils with medical or care needs.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with SEN, preferably in a UK setting.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for education and commitment to continuous professional development.
