Our client, a family-owned business, is seeking an experienced Head of Energy to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's energy strategy and driving business growth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the company's energy strategy, aligning with the organization's 5-year plan.
- Proactively promote and maintain high standards of Health and Safety across the business, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Lead and implement energy projects across various sectors, including Alternative Energy, Solar, Heat, Fuel, and Power, to enhance business performance and reduce the carbon footprint.
- Oversee the energy Profit and Loss (P&L) and budgeting, ensuring the company's financial goals are met.
- Line manage the energy team, providing guidance, support, and feedback to direct reports.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships across the organization, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Responsible for power purchasing and trading, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Research and implement new technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare and present reports to the board, delivering the energy strategy and key performance indicators.
Person Specification:
- 3 years of experience in a similar energy lead role.
- Up-to-date knowledge of government energy strategy and relevant laws.
- Excellent organizational skills, with proficiency in MS Office and systems.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proactive and flexible approach to work, with a willingness to lead improvements and changes to current ways of working.
- Ability to work autonomously, while maintaining strong teamwork skills.
