Exciting Opportunity for a Research Assistant

The University of Cambridge is offering a position for a Research Assistant within the esteemed laboratory of Dr. Walid Khaled. This laboratory is dedicated to exploring the intricacies of epithelial cell fate decisions during both normal development and the early stages of tumorigenesis. The current research focuses on the influence of the cell of origin and the surrounding stroma/immune microenvironment on the developmental pathways of cancer cells.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team, who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or MPhil in Biological Sciences
  • Experience in analyzing single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) data
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python, along with familiarity with sequencing analysis pipelines
  • Ability to integrate and interpret large datasets derived from scRNAseq
  • Strong organizational skills coupled with effective communication abilities
  • Capability to design, conduct, and analyze experimental procedures

This position is initially funded for a fixed term of 12 months. The University is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that values equality and diversity in the workplace.
