The Tax and Financial Accounting team at Informa PLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VAT Analyst to join our global team. As a VAT Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preparation and filing of indirect and direct tax filings, statutory account filings, and treasury back office functions.
You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to key business partners, external stakeholders, and Group functions. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships will be essential in this role.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax and financial accounting, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. You will be highly organized, diligent, and able to maintain attention to detail while working under pressure. Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook are essential, and knowledge of SAP and Oracle systems is preferable.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and review of allocated VAT returns (UK and overseas)
- Review of EC Sales lists and intrastate declarations
- Review of balance sheet tax-related reconciliations by set deadline
- Assist with the review of the annual PSA returns
- Monitor postings made to VAT accounts and ensuring all journals are supported by appropriate documentation and correctly posted
- Provide advice and guidance to other teams within the shared services and within the divisions in terms of offering guidance on new products, invoice complexities, and ad-hoc queries
- Assist with setting up new VAT registrations across the world
- Complete system testing for new VAT rules and new products
- Ensure systems are up to date for VAT rate changes, liaising with the system teams as appropriate
- Prepare and provide VAT training to other SSC teams and the business as required
- Liaise with tax advisors, both overseas and UK, as required
- Assist in addressing Tax authority queries in a timely and efficient manner
- Assist with relevant project work (e.g. acquisitions, disposals, restructuring etc.)
- 4 years relevant Tax and Financial Accounting experience
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, including a wide range of stakeholders within the business
- Highly organized, diligent, with attention to detail and the ability to maintain these skills while working under pressure
- Strong presentation skills
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook are essential
- Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines
- Knowledge of SAP and Oracle systems preferable
