Fleet Maintenance Technician/Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician/Supervisor to join our team at b-spokes Deliveries. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are always in a safe and roadworthy condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of the UK Fleet of our vans across our Regional Sites.
  • Complete and update Fleet Check Sheets as instructed by the Fleet Manager.
  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy condition, complying with statutory legal requirements.
  • Assist with the weekly assessment of vehicle checks.
  • Support the development of our in-house training program to achieve ROSPA driver training approval.
  • Ensure all vans are maintained in a good, safe, and roadworthy condition, complying with statutory requirements.
  • Undertake minor vehicle maintenance tasks as required.
  • Record driver changeovers accurately on our database software.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle handover checks to identify any issues or damage.
  • Record and apportion damage deductions, fuel, or valet charges to the correct driver.
  • Complete daily fleet stat sheets.
  • Maintain the online insurance database with fleet data, including records of who is in which van.
  • Ensure all vans are kept clean and well-presented.
  • Champion safe driving practices and provide constructive feedback to drivers on their driver safety scores.
  • Keep accurate records using our recognized systems.
  • Coordinate regular servicing, MOTs, and repairs with our recognized agencies/local garages.
  • Carry out driver training and van assessments with new and existing drivers.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will have a motor vehicle mechanic qualification or strong experience in vehicle maintenance.
  • Must have experience in vehicle maintenance/repair, preferably in Rent-a-Car or Automotive Repair Shop/Similar.
  • Ability to confidently examine and assess vehicles in relation to legal requirements/mechanical and bodywork damage.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to report on fleet damages in a timely, clear, and concise manner.
  • Ability to work and make good decisions under pressure.
  • Competent in using a PC, including MS Excel and Word, as well as the ability to use email and keep online records of fleet checks/conditions/repairs.
  • Valid and clean driving license.
  • Enthusiastic, with drive and energy.
  • Task-focused, well-organized, reliable, and trustworthy.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on your own, but also as part of a small team.
  • Flexible attitude to working hours.
