Position: Specification Engineer for Building Services Valves

Role Overview:
The Specification Engineer for Building Services Valves will be responsible for:
  • Engaging in a technical specification role, promoting a range of manufactured dynamic control valves (smart valves), pressure independent control valves (PICVs), differential pressure control valves (DPCVs), and electro-mechanical actuators.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Devoting 80-90% of your time to securing specifications and influencing M&E consultants and building services consultants.
  • Managing relationships with MEP contractors, M&E contractors, and select OEMs and developers during the remaining time.
  • Serving as the technical authority on all aspects of application, installation, and functionality of the products.
  • Providing technical assistance and support to the sales team in securing orders, generating quotations, and preparing technical submittals.
  • Conducting technical design reviews, schematic take-offs, mark-ups, and bluebeam PDF editing.
  • Handling project sizes up to £500,000, with typical projects ranging from £50,000 to £80,000.
  • Working on various projects including data centers, office buildings, high-rise residential structures, and stadiums.
  • Aiming to contribute approximately £1 million to the project pipeline each month.
  • Collaborating closely with a team of field sales professionals to finalize business with M&E contractors.
  • Developing and delivering training materials.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 3 years (preferably 5 years or more) of technical specification experience within HVAC building services.
  • Experience in specifications with M&E consultants and building services consultants.
  • A proven aptitude for technical, mechanical, and electrical concepts.
  • A background in various commercial plumbing and heating products, including valves, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, heat pumps, chillers, and AHUs.
  • Established contacts within M&E consultants and building services consultants may be beneficial.
