An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Team Leader to join our dynamic team at Simmonsigns Ltd, a leading manufacturer of road safety solutions based in Shropshire.

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the resources of a high-performing assembly team, producing a diverse range of premium products for signage and illumination applications. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, ensuring that safety procedures are followed by you and team members.
  • Developing close cooperation between fellow Team Leaders to support material flow.
  • Managing the production plan to ensure that the lines achieve their requirements in accordance with the agreed plan and to the required quality and cost standards.
  • Managing senior operatives and staffing on lines to efficiently meet demand, including overtime.
  • Identifying training needs and cross-training a balanced team and maintaining records.
  • Providing direct line support and being prepared to work on the lines to cover increased workload or absences.
  • Actively practicing, encouraging, and coaching team members in continuous improvement techniques within your area, ensuring swift root cause analysis, containment, and sustained corrective actions.
  • Daily briefings, PPE, maintenance checks, and toolbox talks.
  • Communications with other areas of the business, including Sales and Customer Services and Business Systems.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a proven track record in team leadership and management, with experience of production plan responsibility. You will also need to be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving and process skills, as well as being organised and able to prioritise tasks against tight time constraints. Proficiency in English and maths is also essential, as is being computer literate.

This is a full-time, permanent position, with a competitive salary of £29,246.00 per year. The role involves working a day shift, Monday to Friday, with a range of benefits including company pension, discounted or free food, employee discount, free parking, and on-site parking.
