Position Overview:

As a Strategic Finance Partner, you will collaborate closely with Client Account teams to provide guidance and insights that enhance strategic and operational decision-making, ultimately aiming to improve financial outcomes. You will serve as a reliable partner, capable of offering constructive challenges and recommendations throughout the decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function in a finance business partnering role, delivering insights that empower the client account teams to make informed decisions.
  • Assist the Finance Director in achieving the goals of the client accounting finance division.
  • Generate periodic and annual results for the relevant Client Account teams, including management analysis that identifies variances, trends, and their implications on the annual business strategy and quarterly forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Client Account Directors to prepare and analyze the monthly job tracker at the gross margin level, identifying and investigating significant variances from forecasts and budgets.
  • Conduct post-month-end reviews with Account Directors, focusing on P&L performance and variance analysis, including staff costs and identified risks and opportunities.
  • Regularly assess and support Client Account teams in managing working capital, including sales reserves, aged debt, and work in progress.
  • Assist Client Account teams in the timely preparation of forecasts and budgets, critically reviewing and challenging assumptions.
  • Provide detailed analysis as needed to support client teams in their decision-making processes.
  • Work collaboratively with Client Account teams to ensure awareness of the financial implications of operational decisions.
  • Participate in regular meetings with Client Account Directors, acting as the primary liaison for the finance department.
  • Conduct financial analysis and reporting as requested.
  • Drive continuous improvement in existing processes and procedures.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks and reporting as required in line with the role's responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Partially or fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Innate ability to partner and cultivate strong, trusted relationships.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the capability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a comparable organization.
  • Proven communication skills, demonstrating high standards of accuracy and presentation.
  • Familiarity with SAGE Intacct or similar finance platforms is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
