Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical engineering projects and teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering strategies to maximize resource utilization and power plant availability.
  • Collaborate with Asset Operations, Asset Management, and OEMs to ensure process compliance, CDM compliance, and the highest standard of HSSE and Quality performance.
  • Manage delivery of projects and outages, working closely with stakeholders to ensure contract, procurement, and project management processes are followed.
  • Lead project teams as required, dependent on project complexity.
  • Deliver project charters that clearly define objectives, expectations, and communication plans.
  • Manage the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment aspects of the asset project, ensuring delivery to stakeholder standards.
  • Establish and ensure delivery of contractor Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
  • Develop and maintain a broad knowledge and experience of maintenance activities in an engineering skill spanning more than one plant area.
  • Challenging contractors on methods, quality, and standards of work, ensuring projects are suitably defined and agreed to optimize business value.
  • Contract and project management skills to run several contracts within a project, involving on/off-site working, health, safety, and environmental aspects, as well as commercial and technical issues.

Requirements:

  • Higher National Diploma or Degree level in an Engineering discipline, supported with a sound technical knowledge of engineering and maintenance practices gained through experience.
  • Sound understanding of power plant operations, knowledge of current regulations and policy affecting the management and operations of power plant engineering assets.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills, including effective prioritization and resource management.
  • Good working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and standards to NEBOSH or equivalent.
